Wedding Photography on Pudding Pie Hill

The Wedding Venue- Fox and Goose, Chesterfield
"The first venue on the list was The Fox and Goose, Wigley, and we had been there once before to eat but that was a few years ago. We loved the character of the pub and the friendliness of the staff. Because we knew we wanted our wedding day to be a bit different from others, more chilled out and simple (for want of a better word!), as soon as we were welcomed in and sat by the fire, we just knew it was right and we cancelled the viewings to the other venues! We already knew the food was delicious as we had eaten there before but what really stood out to us was the amazing views of the countryside and the fact we could plan the day to be exactly how we wanted it. The wedding coordinator was honest with prices so there was no hidden extras we weren't told about and they really went above and beyond for us, before the day, during the wedding and after!"
The Groomsmen Suits
"Rob bought his suit from Tweed and Groom, adjacent to the bridal boutique I bought my dress from. He chose a Herbie Frogg, slim fit, royal blue, three piece suit and a Liberty print tie. We asked the groomsmen to wear their own suits and bought them all a different Liberty print tie and pocket square to wear."
The Dress, Make up, Hair and Flowers
"I got my dress from The White Yard, a small bridal boutique at Elsecar Heritage Centre near Barnsley. I wanted something different from the average wedding dress, something more bohemian and comfortable, and The White Yard ticked all those boxes. My main priorities were to be able to dance all night and eat ALL the food and be comfy in it!
Our very kind and lovely friends Will and Rachel arranged for Lucy to do my hair and make up. Lucy made me feel comfortable and relaxed during the trial and on the day. I have never felt so beautiful! Thanks again Lucy!
Sarah-May Anderson, a friend of the family, and a wonderful florist based in Ilkeston did the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets and the Groomsmen's button holes to match. I wanted a colourful, wild flower bouquet that again looked bohemian and relaxed. She nailed it!"
The Ceremony
Sophie "I was so excited! I didn't feel nervous in the slightest because we had specifically chosen to have a small wedding, with immediate family. I practically skipped down the aisle, and my face says it all! "
Rob "The main thing I remember was seeing her big, beaming smile as she walked down the aisle. Of course, she looked beautiful and her dress and the flowers were amazing but I don't think I have ever seen someone looking so happy! This relaxed me and I was glad we had chosen an intimate and relaxed ceremony so we were able to enjoy it."
Sophie: "Trying not to laugh when facing Rob and having to say our vows!! But on a more serious note, I remember looking around the room, feeling all the love in the world and trying to take in every single detail so I can picture it forever and remember the day so fondly in many years to come."
Rob: "I remember feeling surprisingly relaxed throughout the ceremony which I think was due to only having close friends and family there. The music we had chosen set the mood perfectly and there was such a happy atmosphere in the room, as well as a few tears. I wouldn't have changed anything about it."
Bride and Groom Photoshoot
Curbar Edge is a 5 minutes drive away for The Fox and Goose, it is an absolutely fabulous location to create those wow bride and groom photographs, it never disappoints!
Celebrations and Confetti
"We were surprised by our great friend and usher Ross. He had decorated his pick-up with bunting and had a hay bale in the back so we could arrive at the venue on the back of his car after having our photographs taken at Curbar Edge. It was fantastic! All our guests were outside to see us arrive and ready to throw confetti over us. To see everyone you love in one place is so great, it's hard to put into words!"
The wedding breakfast and speeches
"All of the speeches were emotional for us, especially remembering loved ones that couldn't be there. My mum, Rob and Rob's dad did so well and the words were so special and meaningful. Rob's best man, Murray... well, I maybe bias but it was the best and funniest best man's speech I have ever witnessed! He truly humiliated Rob and involved the whole friendship group. Everyone commented on how funny it was and again, the photographs say it all! "
The cake and first dance
"My super duper talented and lovely best friend Rosie and her wonderful mum Sandra. They both make beautiful cakes that I have always been lucky to sample and so I asked them if they would make one for the wedding. Thank you once again to Rosie and Sandra, everyone loved the cake, it was gorgeous both to look at and to taste!
We met through a love of the same music so choosing a song was easy, Bob Marley - Is This Love. The lyrics and the chilled out vibe of this song echoed the vibe of the whole wedding and our story so far. We had The Black Hands play in the evening, they are an excellent local band who we first saw together at one of our first dates and have loved ever since."
Standout memory from the day
"So many to chose from, but arriving back at The Fox and Goose on the back of Ross' pick up, seeing all of our loved ones cheering and smiling at us was magical!"
Photography
"We had seen Frances's amazing wedding photography first hand at a friend's wedding. She made us feel at ease throughout and was so friendly, it was a no-brainer. All of the photographs were brilliant! One of our favourite photos is this one because we love the scenery and the pose as well as the back of my dress."
Any tips for future brides and grooms?
"Do what you want, have the day that you will love and cherish forever and keep it simple! It's so easy to get carried away but it really doesn't have to be stressful. Reflect at every opportunity you get during the day and remember those feelings, emotions and memories forever! Ask friends and family to help, they all have contacts, hidden talents and time they will want to share in order to help you, so don't be afraid to ask."
